We were at one of our favorites, the Payette County Fair. Thanks for stopping by and talking about farmland. We met guinea pigs, rabbits and found a future engineer from the look of our zoning layout.

We were so glad you dropped by and talked about farmland with us! We talked about the importance of zoning for working farms. How farmland is an air conditioner for cities and how farmers put water back into the aquifer. Canyon County has a new Comprehensive Plan that helps protect our farmland.

CALDWELL – Several thousand people from southwestern Idaho turned out to support farmers and the preservation of farmland during the inaugural Treasure Our Valley festival Oct. 5.

Farming in the Schools, 5th grade Field Day

Each September, the Ada Soil and Water Conservation District invites 5th Graders out on a farm to learn a little about the land and wildlife. For many kids, this is their first time on a farm and when asked where their food is grown, many will say the “The grocery store.” These little adventures go a long way in teaching the children of the Treasure Valley where their food comes from.
